Responsibilities:
- Use advanced financial engineering, mathematical, econometricand statistical techniques, including Monte Carlo simulation and latticemodels, to perform and review valuations of complex financial instrumentsincluding contingent consideration, put/call deal structures, stockcompensation, warrants, financial derivatives (equity, interest rate,commodity, CPI, credit), embedded derivatives, debt, insurance contracts,convertible notes and other hybrid instruments.
- Effectively present / document / support complex securities valuationsto various stakeholders, including managers, clients, auditors and regulators.
- Develop, document and enhance models to be used by the complexsecurities practice to perform valuations.
- Understand, research and stay-current with authoritative guidanceand industry best practices in the context of valuations for financial reporting,tax, and litigation purposes.
- Contribute to the training of team members and go-to-marketinitiatives of the complex securities valuation practice.
- Build capabilities in key technologies that enable taxprofessionals for client service delivery such as artificial intelligence (AI),Alteryx, Power BI, and more
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college oruniversity and pursuing the following degrees/majors: anadvanced (preferred) or Bachelors with a focus in FinancialEngineering, Computational Finance, Applied Math, Statistical or equivalent program
- Upon completion of this internship candidates must haveadditional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Coursework or minor in computer programming preferred (VBA,C , Python); coursework or knowledge of Bloomberg, Fincad, Numerix, Matlab andIntex preferred
- Familiarity with stochastic models used to value complexfinancial instruments within a risk-neutral framework
- Familiarity with financial instruments including fixed incomesecurities, interest rate and equity derivatives
- Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills;flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high qualitywork
- Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude,critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications (Excel,PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access, Power BI), Alteryx, Tableau, artificialintelligence (AI) and similar data analysis and visualization tools
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to theoffice for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable worklocations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle orpublic transportation
- Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises asneeded, at times with relatively short notice
