An Estimator is responsible for evaluating and determining the approximate costs of construction and developing an Opinion of Probable Cost (estimate). The primary goal is to provide thorough and competitive estimates with a high probability of award. A thorough understanding of construction trades, product types, building techniques, materials, labor costs, and industry standards.
Responsibilities
Reviewing project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work. Analyzing project proposals to determine costs and prepare detailed estimates. Communicating with project team to clarify project details. Identifying potential cost-saving measures and proposing alternatives to clients. Attending pre-bid meetings and site visits. Collaborating with other departments and providing occasional support to project managers during the construction phase. Work independently on medium and large projects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills with the capacity to work well under pressure. Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques. Proficient in construction estimating software and tools, reviewing and interpreting construction documents, reading and writing of technical specifications; on screen take-off software, Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Outlook, Zoom, and AutoCad plan viewing.
