Job Skills / Requirements
This job entails the normal duties of a Protective Security Officer (PSO), working at a federal facility that falls under the protection of the Department of Defense. Duties include but are not limited to: access control, providing escorts, facility patrols, detainments of individuals, assisting employees & visitors, following the Post Orders & regulations o and adhering to the guidelines presented within the Statement(s) of Work.
All PSO applicants must have active Top Secret (TS) Clearance and the eligibility to obtain and maintain Sesnsitive Compartmented Information (SCI) incumbents must meet all certification requirement including an active TS/SCI
Qualifications/Professional Experience
To be eligible to perform under this contract each proposed employee must meet the following education, experience, health, and security requirements.
- United States citizen.
- Minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.
- The ability to read, understand and apply printed rules, detailed. orders, instructions, and training materials.
- The ability to maintain poise and self-control under stress.
- Have the following trainings:
- OC Training
- ARC First Aid/CPR/AED Training
Education/Experience - An equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
- Possess a high school education or equivalency.
- Diploma from an accredited institution recognized by U.S. Department of Education.
- Two years of security experience within past five years of guarding property against the hazards of fire, damage, theft, trespassing, protection of lives, maintain order or enforcement of laws.
- Three years of military or National Guard (active duty or reserve)
- Fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English.
- Security Supervisor experience if possible.
Clearance and Authorization
- Maintain State of Maryland Permit to Carry Handgun
- Must have active TS/SCI

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Heavy work: Exerting up to 200 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantl to move objects.
- Must have visual and audio acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, machines such as fire equipment and apparatuses, firearms and clearing barrels.
- May be subject to outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures and weather.
- Subject to high noise levels.
- Subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
- May be required to be fitted for and/or wear a respirator.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, often without breaks, and may be required to climb stairs or ladders and walk-up inclines and on uneven terrain.
- Must meet all physical and psychological standards as required by the contract.
- Travel may be required.
