As a Truck Receiver at Kessler’s Grocery Store, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all incoming shipments are received, inspected, and organized efficiently. You’ll work closely with the receiving and stock team to unload deliveries, verify shipments against purchase orders, and maintain an organized storage area. This position requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload deliveries from trucks, ensuring all products are carefully handled and placed in designated areas.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, checking for accuracy in quantities and product quality.
- Inspect products for damage or expiration, and report any discrepancies or concerns to the Receiving Manager.
- Sort and organize products in the stockroom according to department guidelines, ensuring items are stored in an orderly manner.
- Record and track received items, updating inventory systems to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Assist in the preparation of products for stocking on store shelves, including breaking down boxes, arranging items, and labeling.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including properly disposing of packaging materials and organizing storage spaces.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient receiving and stocking processes.
- Assist in inventory management by helping to track product movement and report low stock levels.
- Follow all safety and health regulations when handling products and equipment.
- Support the store in maintaining a high standard of product presentation and cleanliness.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or receiving role is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 75 pounds) and operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
