SUMMARY: The New England Revolution seeks a highly motivated individual to support the club's overall communications efforts on home game days. The Game Day Communications Associate will play a vital role in the New England Revolution's game day media operations. The successful candidate will interact with local and national media (print, radio, television, and internet) and complete various tasks as assigned by the club's communications staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Candidates must be available for all of the club's Revolution home games, typically on nights and weekends, during the MLS season. Due to the cyclical nature of the sports industry, employees will be asked to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
- Candidates must be available for at least 50% of Revolution II home games, typically on nights and weekends.
- Produce and distribute professional transcripts as assigned in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with set-up in media areas for all Revolution matches at Gillette Stadium.
- Assist with all aspects of the team's game day media operations, including but not limited to assisting media with information requests, disseminating information, and facilitating postgame media availability (press conferences, locker room interviews, etc.).
- Staff media will call on a rotating basis.
- Assist broadcast crews in a variety of capacities including serving as a broadcast coordinator (Red Hat), statistician, spotter, or runner.
- Occasionally interact with media members, coaches, players, and other personnel in a professional manner on behalf of the communications staff and organization.
- Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and exhibit a professional demeanor.
- Must be available for all Revolution home games during the MLS regular season and at least half of Revolution II home games during the MLS NEXT Pro regular season.
- Strong oral communication skills and polished written communication skills with a superior attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge and passion for the sport of soccer is preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and work in high-pressure environments.
- Background or prior experience in sports journalism/communications/broadcasting is preferred, but not required.
