The Director of Sales is responsible for managing and overseeing the Sales Operations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Call on prospective customers and assigned accounts within assigned territory.
  • Accountable to meet sales quotas and monthly sales activity goals and maintains records of activity results in CRM system.
  • Identify decision maker(s) for prospective customers and assigned accounts, profile all equipment along with next opportunity date(s), current services used and supplier within territory; record ongoing findings in CRM system.
  • Conduct sales presentations; perform needs assessments, facility tours, and vehicle demonstrations.
  • Develop proper equipment specification for opportunities by keeping current on trailer specifications including legal, performance, and application criteria.
  • Create target lists, participate in sales blitzes, and pursue prospective business within assigned territory.
  • Develop a sales and marketing program to achieve specific sales, utilization, and profit target based on current market conditions.
  • Evaluate Rental performance against established targets and standards and take appropriate actions, as necessary.
  • Control Rental utilization through the analysis of market potential in accordance with established goals.
  • Manages attendance in a timely manner and counsels/disciplines employees as appropriate. 
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and recommend pay increases as appropriate by utilizing the company’s Human Capital Management technology.
  • Reports all accidents to the Director of Operations, Human Resources and COO immediately. 
  • Work with Human Resources and management on workforce planning, recruitment, and interviewing. 
  • Train, motivate, hold accountable and monitor the performance of all Leasing department staff. 
  • Initiate employee corrective action and consult with Human Resources as needed.
