What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tank Trailer Mechanic position at Kraft Tank Corporation?
- Complete job(s) based on standard job process or by steps directed by Manager. Clock in and out of job accurately.
- A preliminary list of initial jobs is as follows:
- Change tires.
- Install mud flaps for service customers.
- Change trailer lights.
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment check-ins.
- Change gaskets, dome lids, butterfly valves, and API heads.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to replace like-for-like parts.
- Diagnose and repair trailer lighting system.
- Perform services on brakes and brake chambers.
- Report any issues, variations or changes needed to initial RO (Repair Order) immediately to supervisor.
- Clean bay after each completed job, returning cores and extra parts to the parts department, and moving any parts taken off to appropriate locations (scrap bin, trash, etc.). Stay clocked into job while cleaning.
- Keep shop tools clean and in proper working condition. If a tool requires repair, report it to the Service Manager. Place all tools back in the designated location after they are cleaned.
- Confirm needed photos have been taken and final Quality Checks are completed before removing unit from shop bay.
- Complete all work in a safe manner in accordance with company requirements.
- Complete other tasks as directed by Shop Foreman and Service Manager.
