The team
Kraken is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Product Designer to join a newly created team and project within Kraken. Our mission is to move the economy away from fiat to stablecoins. People should not have to go through a centralized body to custody their money. Banks fail and mismanage customer funds all the time. DeFi gives the power back to the people - with the convenience of cash but the safety of digital assets. We are building embedded finance, but on DeFi rails. Enabling developers to open up DeFi wallets for their users, both self-custody and multi-sig, through easy-to-use SDKs for full onboarding and management for their accounts.
We’re seeking a strong communicator and a collaborative team player who can decompose complex problems into manageable tasks. You’ll work alongside engineers across the team and organization, learning and exploring innovative ways to address issues and improve workflows.
This role requires a candidate to work onsite in San Francisco

This role requires a candidate to work onsite in San Francisco
The opportunity
- Create an intuitive and visually stunning design for our SDKs and developer tools to ensure seamless adoption
- Develop user-centric designs for wallet management, payments, and treasury features that prioritize simplicity and clarity
- Focus on the user experience for developers, businesses, and consumers interacting with DeFi wallets and payment systems
- Establish a design system that scales with the product, ensuring consistency and elegance across all interfaces
- Help bridge the gap between technical complexity and user accessibility, making DeFi tools usable by anyone.
- Exceptional skills in UX/UI design, with a focus on creating intuitive developer tools and consumer-facing applications
- Experience designing fintech or blockchain products, including wallets, payment systems, or SDKs
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to simplify complex workflows
- Proficient in tools like Figma, Sketch, or similar, with a portfolio showcasing clean, functional, and modern design
- Skilled in prototyping and testing designs with users to ensure usability and seamless interactions
- Familiarity with DeFi, stablecoins, and financial products is a strong plus
- Comfortable collaborating closely with engineering, product, and marketing teams to translate user needs into actionable designs
- 5 years of experience in product design, ideally with exposure to fintech or blockchain environments
- A relentless pursuit of excellence in design, with a deep appreciation for aesthetics, usability, and innovation.
