Crew Member Role: Warehouse and Logistics Specialist
Position Overview:
Kraken is currently seeking a part-time Warehouse and Logistics Specialist. This job plays a vital role in efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of goods within the organization's supply chain. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments.
- Organize and categorize products in the warehouse using appropriate storage systems.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate reordering as needed to prevent stockouts.
Order Fulfillment:
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure proper packaging to prevent damage during transit.
- Generate shipping labels and required documentation for outbound shipments.
Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track and monitor the movement of shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Address any issues or delays in transit, such as customs clearance or route changes.
Warehouse Organization:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Optimize warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
- Implement proper labeling and documentation for ease of product identification.
Quality Control:
- Perform regular quality checks on incoming and outgoing products.
- Identify and report any damaged or defective items.
- Implement and follow quality control procedures to maintain product integrity.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and transactions.
- Generate regular reports on inventory status, order fulfillment, and logistics performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively to resolve any issues related to inventory, orders, or logistics.
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards or concerns.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require post-secondary education in logistics or supply chain management.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or related fields is preferred.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and inventory management.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members, vendors, and carriers.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Valid Drivers License- in good standing.
