Responsibilities
The Intake Receptionist Function as the designated employee for processing patient referrals. Also, assists with prior authorizations, new patient intake packets as well as making sure all consents are up to date. Secondarily, will cover front desk as needed.
- Schedule all external (outside of Kramer Davis and internal referrals (referrals from one Kramer Davis clinician to another).
- Obtain prior authorizations as needed by medical, psychiatry and therapy providers.
- Manage and / or mitigate any problem interactions with patients, other providers referred to and Kramer Davis clinicians to promote resolution of the problem and ensure the continued efficiency of the patient referral process.
- Assist with new patients with the completion of the patient intake process. Follow up with any patients that are waiting on the smartsheet for obtaining documents to complete the intake packet.
- Responsible for making sure patient’s intake packets are updated and signed each year.
- Facilitate the scheduling of in-house patient appointments with Kramer Davis clinicians, to include the coordinating of multiple, transdisciplinary appointments on a single day when needed to cover for the front desk.
- At all times, demonstrate a pleasant, attentive, and caring attitude e.g., with facial expressions, tone of voice, body language, responsiveness to patient and family requests, needs, etc.
- Participate in the prompt and efficient coordination of emergencies occurring in the immediate workspace and adjoining areas, coordinating with the CA, Compliance Officer, and / or Behavior Analyst depending on the nature of the emergency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Compliance
- Function as a liaison with patients, referring Kramer Davis clinicians, and support staff in confirming that both in-house and external referrals are in compliance with the specifications of the prescribed referral order.
- Participate in educating patients, guardians, and caregivers with respect to issues relating to proper release of records, informed consent for procedures, appropriate preparation for external referrals, etc.
- Work with Leadership Team in development of, implementation of operational protocols to meet discharge / scheduling processing demands of the clinic.
- Assist the Compliance Officer with procurement of necessary documentation when requested.
Requirements
· Medical Assistant or LPN with 2 year’s experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary office setting-Medical/Dental software experience
· Experience with external referrals/prior authorizations and scheduling
· Experience with patients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
