The Safety/Risk Manager will be responsible for creating, implementing, and managing safety policies, risk mitigation plans, and compliance strategies across our operations. This individual will play a pivotal role in identifying potential risks, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and managing the overall safety culture within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both safety management and risk analysis, with a proven ability to lead safety initiatives while minimizing organizational risk.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety and risk management programs.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage potential risks, hazards, and safety concerns.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all relevant safety laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and safety inspections across company operations.
- Lead and coordinate safety training programs to ensure all employees are equipped with the knowledge and tools to maintain a safe work environment.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and produce detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Analyze safety data and metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and proactive measures.
- Work closely with leadership to integrate safety and risk management initiatives into overall business strategies.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices to maintain compliance and enhance risk management strategies.
- Develop and oversee emergency response plans and crisis management protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager, Risk Manager, or in a similar role, preferably in Utility Construction.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.
- Ability to analyze complex data and identify potential risks and hazards.
- Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
- Experience in developing and leading safety programs across a diverse workforce.
- Risk management certifications (e.g., ARM, CRM) or Safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST) preferred.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
- Degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
