Accounting Manager: Venture Capital Fund Administration

For over two decades, Kranz Consulting has been the recognized leader in providing superior financial consulting advisory services requested by the most prominent Venture Capital firms, startup and emerging growth company CEOs, Boards, and CFOs.

This position is a full-time and/or part-time role working as an employee of Kranz Consulting while providing fractional consulting services to our Venture Capital Fund Administration clients. The Accounting Manager position, working with our Venture Capital and Private Equity clients, is an operational and financial manager position that collaborates very closely with Senior Management.

If you are a seasoned professional with excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong experience and skills in the area of Finance & Accounting, we are looking for you.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Review journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual period closings and financial statements and associated reports for Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds, as well as associated entities (general partner, management companies, special purpose vehicles, etc.)
•    Review and summarize complex investment transactions, including portfolio company exits with cash and/or stock consideration
•    Assist with portfolio company valuations using a variety of valuation methodologies
•    Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors on various tax filings
•    Prepare and/or review LP allocations including carry calculations and monitor compliance with complex partnership agreements
•    Prepare and/or review investor communications for capital calls, distributions & liquidity announcements
•    Assist with compliance related issues, such as state and local tax filings and registrations and compliance with foreign regulatory agencies
•    Interact with and respond to limited partner requests 
•    Responsible for the day-to-day activities and guidance of team members including monitoring work product and assisting with any questions the employees may have to achieve team objectives.
•    Perform special projects as requested

Desired Skills and Experience

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 
•    5 years’ related fund administration and/or private fund experience, with public accounting background preferred 
•    CPA preferred
•    Prior payroll experience preferred
•    Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask, prioritize, and complete projects in a dynamic environment
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
•    Prior management experience
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, with a high degree of flexibility
•    Proficiency with multiple software applications preferred (QuickBooks, Excel and other Office applications)
•    Proficiency with Dynamo preferred
