Conducts PENNDOT approved Road Tests.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This field position will provide training in accordance with PA State mandated and Company-based in a classroom setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruct driver applicants and current employees in classroom instruction, bus driving techniques, and safetycompliance with regulatory and company-specific CDL requirements and endorsements
- Documentation of training schedules, driver applicants, and current employee's progress and concerns onappropriate forms
- Conduct/Assist in school bus driver recertification as needed for classroom/skills/behind-the-wheel
- Report training problems in writing to the Training Supervisor promptly
- Coordinate safety remediation and advise in assessment for current drivers with the training required
- Conduct refresher training for current employees
- Coordinate training needs with other company locations/divisions
- Traveling to outside locations will be required to complete training needs
- Conduct testing for applicants and new candidates with existing valid Commercial Driver License andperform final evaluations as needed
- Conduct road skills testing for new trainees in accordance with PENNDOT regulations
- Maintain a current School Bus Training Certificate and attend PENNDOT required meetings
- Maintain acurrent CDL Examiners Certificate and attend PENNDOT required meetings
- Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes affecting DOT and School bus instruction
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Patience and ability to complete all levels of training with any applicant
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid CDL license – Passenger & School Bus Endorsements
- Valid PA State Certified Instructor Certificate required with 2 years of experience
- Valid PA State Certified Examiner preferred
- Certified Smith System (defensive driving) Instructor preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Integrity and ability to handle confidential information
- Must meet physical qualifications for school bus physical with or without state approved waivers
- Must have a satisfactory motor vehicle record, criminal history record and child abuse history record
- Ability to safely operate large commercial vehicles
