POSITION SUMMARY
This office and hands on mechanic position under limited supervision, directs, assists and instructs Maintenance Supervisor and Lead Technicians for the Pennsylvania transit, coach and charter operations in the Preventative Maintenance protocols outlined in the Krapf Maintenance Policy and Procedure Manual and in accordance with the manufacturers' recommended policies. This position conducts regular and rigorous facility audits, fleet appearance audits, Repair Order quality audits, environmental audits and OSHA audits as required in order to bring high-quality service to customers and employees. Analyzes cost performance against standards for maintenance parts and maintenance labor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, define and resolve maintenance labor and vehicle problems. Assist in day-to-day implementation of policies / procedures within the framework of the company's Maintenance Excellence Program.Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, Department of Transportation and / or Department of Education laws by State, and implement environmental compliance and management programs throughout assigned territories.Conduct environmental audits and surveys to minimize liability.Seek, identify and assist pursuing new business opportunities aligned with the vision, mission and goals of Krapf Transportation.Uphold high standards for customer communication.Uphold high standards for employee communication, conflict resolution, and team building.Assist analysis of monthly financial performance, forecasting and budgeting. For variances requiring remediation, lead the effort to identify options and prioritize them appropriate action.Provide status of maintenance and budget requirements. Must review financial and budget variances, review repair orders or code accounts payable documents.Hire and motivate Lead Technicians and TechniciansMaintain accurate and up-to-date phone and address lists.Other duties that may be assigned as needed for business reasons.POSITION DESCRIPTION

Experience as automotive and truck technical mechanic.Knowledge of DOT, DOE, OSHA and environmental regulations.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Computer literacy including development of spreadsheets and word documents, tracking data and generating reports.Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and in a non-confrontational manner.Integrity and ability to handle confidential information.Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.Ability to manage people to ensure maximum productivity and teamwork.Experience in accident / incident investigation.Ability to provide training as required by the business.Ability to successfully complete any relevant training and certification.Valid Driver's License.Having or obtaining a CDL with P (passenger) and S (School Bus) is REQUIRED within 6 months of hire.EDUCATION
