Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services Division is hiring a Weapon System Architect to support several development programs for the US Military. The Weapons System Architect will provide technical leadership for delivering innovative solutions in pursuit of new opportunities as well as technology improvements to existing programs. Successful candidates will interact with internal and external stakeholders to define system level requirements. The candidates will then define plans including design requirements, allocations, and M&S plans for execution. The successful candidate will integrate results of analysis and tests performed into a comprehensive customer deliverable demonstrating design capabilities and the ability to meet the customer needs. The candidate will lead, manage, and perform detailed design and analysis activities for the developmental programs as appropriate for the size and complexity of the weapon.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support the Division team in developing and executing the strategy for weapons systems portfolio. Experience with weapon systems, preferably long-range tactical or strategic missile systems, reentry vehicle systems, and/or hypersonic systems is required. The candidate is not expected to be an expert on every element of these systems, but will be responsible for the weapon architecture and ensuring that subsystems physically and functionally perform to the customer requirements. The position will be the creative and trusted agent of the Division and Functional Management to shape customer requirements, translate customer needs into actionable features, and help create a compelling technical solution. The candidate is expected to be a critical partner with the technology, engineering, other solution architects and coalesce the division's strategy along with the technology strategy.
**This role could be located in either Huntsville, AL or Glen Burnie, MD**

Experience and Skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM degree program.
- Candidate should have 10 years of relevant experience with an advanced graduate degree preferred.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience should be in leading or managing technical teams for weapon systems.
- Active Secret Clearance
The following skills/abilities are desired:
- Excellent communications skills - demonstrated through written and oral presentations, development of technical papers, volumes, or similar products
- Possess business and technical vision
- Ability to think strategically
- Possess analytical presentation and problem-solving skills
- Proven record of success developing technical solutions within the DoD Community
- Experience developing and maintaining architecture artifacts, and effectively communicating the design to executive and technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated skills in all areas of capture including opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits and demonstrations, customer relationship development, relationship development with competitors, written submissions (market surveys, RFI responses, support to proposals), team leadership, etc.
- Experience presenting to senior executives, peers, and customers
- Top Secret Clearance/SCI desired
