Corporate Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager

Kratos is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join the Corporate team at our San Diego location. This position is onsite with the potential for a hybrid remote work schedule.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Corporate Technical Accounting Manager oversees and participates in the preparation, support and completion of accurate financial statements. Oversee and assist in managing the preparation of financial reports filed with the SEC. Prepares GAAP position memos for complex contractual transactions such as revenue recognition, leases, non-monetary exchange, etc, assists in manage the equity accounting and processing, reviews revenue recognition complex questionnaires based on details of the contractual scope of work and its terms and conditions and works directly with our internal and external auditors to support the audits. The position reports into the Corporate Director of Financial Reporting and Accounting.This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Managing and assisting in the timely preparation, support and completion of accurate financial statements. Oversee and assist in managing the preparation of all financial reports filed with the SEC.
Managing and assisting in month end closing and financial reporting processes (account analysis, account reconciliations, review and approve equity transactions.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the corporate finance and accounting functions; continually monitor for improvements and necessary changes.
Provide formal technical GAAP guidance and training to Business Unit Controllers around the world, including the preparation of technical accounting position memorandums.
Stay current on Financial Accounting standards, providing training and updates to Corporate and Business Units Accounting Team.
Be lead on implementing the SECis New Climate Disclosure Rules.
Work with the Companyis internal and external auditors, being the one of the key contacts and facilitators for audit and financial reporting matters.
Participate in various ad-hoc projects and analysis as requested to support business decisions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Strong GAAP knowledge including recent revenue recognition and lease accounting standards required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products (above average Excel skills required).
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
CPA required.
Minimum 8 years of public accounting and industry experience working in a fast-paced environment required.
Sox experience required.
Experience overseeing preparation and audit of US GAAP compliant financial statements, including consolidations and intercompany transactions required.
Minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience required.
Preferred experience working in $250 million plus organizations.
Preferred experience with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and CAS (Cost Accounting Standards).
