Kratos Space is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team.
Our Accountant develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems including Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, and Revenue Reconciliation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements
- May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations
- Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements
- Project setup review for internal controls
- Travel / Business expense report oversight and approval
- Review unallowable / allowable cost allocations and tax allocations on TER/BER
- Monthly journal entries / close process
- Revenue recognition analysis and input into accounting system / spreadsheets
- Backup for invoicing, project setup, AP payment process
- Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects
- Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions
- May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns
- May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy
- May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
- Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments
- Other job duties as assigned

- Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements

- Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a High School dipolma or Bachelor's degree
Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
