This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. FTT will require proof of status prior to employment.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :
Designs and analyzes aircraft electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and component structures, systems and processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- The engineer will have a BS in an applicable engineering field.
- At least 5-8 years applicable work experience.
- Developing engineers will be mentored to have the technical background and sufficient knowledge to perform all phases of hardware design, development and documentation.
- Uses computer-aided design (CAD) to produce initial design and specifications for aircraft components.
- Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified aircraft system designs.
- Documents changes through a formal engineering change notification process.
- Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal / external working relationships.
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
- Other job duties as assigned.
