What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mission Planning and Execution Director position at Kratos Defense?
The Mission Planning and Execution (MP&E) Director will be responsible for managing the mission design and analysis team for hypersonic testing in Huntsville, Alabama. This position includes working closely with the customer to support experiment selection, defining test objectives, validating flight predictions, assessing mission requirements compliance, managing schedules, data reviews, and providing the documentation necessary for multiple launches and campaigns per year between multiple launch providers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Coordinate the inputs of various team members to identify and call attention to potential conflicts in availability, readiness, and configurations.
- Brief updates and status on assigned activities, organize and facilitate incremental reviews, adjudicate and reconcile technical and operational issues, schedule and oversee regular coordination meetings, and actively manage the completion of delegated tasks.
- Lead Mission design, strategic planning, and verification of performance prediction for current and future launch campaigns.
- Provide oversight and mentoring to the program's technical teams, analysts, and other mission planning personnel.
- Define and manage risks in terms of resources, personnel, and schedule across all missions and campaigns.
- Oversee vehicle trade studies and defining of high-level mission requirements.
- Develop IMS inputs and define critical paths from various groups and subcontractors from mission initiation to launch to meet the programs major milestones.
