ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Wire Technicians at Kratos safely manufacture our products based on our designs and standards for our power and controls centered product lines. Our company has product lines based on our UL files which are as succinct as possible, appeal to a broad range of industries and can generally be sold in a catalog format (online). Our technicians will work for our Production Manger to bring these designs to life on the shop floor using state of the art technologies.

Our technicians will work for our Production Manger to bring these designs to life on the shop floor using state of the art technologies.
- Advanced capacity to read, interpret and understand wiring schematics.
- Use of tools and hands-on applications to construct standard, custom, or semi-custom control panels.
- Work with the production team to collaborate on new ways to improve existing (or create new) processes.
- Work with our engineering team to improve the manufacturability of Kratos products.
- Be willing to learn, be trained and adopt Kratos methods for construction.
- Adherent to 5S Safety standards.
- Strive to maintain the project delivery schedule set forth by Project Management and Shop Foreman.
- Adhere to Kratos and Customer set quality expectations.
- Execute complex controls and mechanical assemblies, including electrical chassis and cable construction.
- Proven competence to interpret and translate advanced schematics/models into functioning products.
- Emphasize new ways to progress existing (or create new) lean processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with engineering to improve the lean manufacturability of products through lessons learned.
- Demonstrate the maturity and adaptability for our manufacturing methods for assembly and production.
- Adhere to stringent quality standards set by Kratos, the Customer and UL Certification Requirements.
- Ensure to maintain the project delivery schedule set forth by Management, Production Foreman, and Lead.
- Influence all 5S standards, lean manufacturing principles, job safety practices and policies including but not limited to personal protective equipment, emergency procedures, Kaizen, one-piece flow, etc.
- Display attention to detail when identifying or requesting parts/materials that are available for production.
- Follow strict inspection and testing procedures during final product disposition and finishing process.
- Recognize and communicate problems with production or manufactured goods to the management team.
- Develop problem-solving strategies; Detect a Deviation, Stop, Identify the Problem, and React/Fix it.
- Establish a Safety-First team environment with all team associates, including proper use of PPE.
- Demonstrate a culture of 5S awareness, team wide, to maintain organization and cleanliness.
- Exemplify and uphold yourself to Kratos Code Orange expectations
- There will be a 90-day probation period
- Control Panel Assembly: Ability to assemble, wire, and install electrical control panels, ensuring that all components (relays, switches, fuses, circuit breakers, etc.) are properly installed in line with project requirements and electrical codes.
- Reading Electrical Schematics: Proficient in interpreting and creating control panel wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings to ensure correct wiring and connections are made.
- Enclosure Setup: Skilled in mounting and securing control panel components within enclosures (metal or plastic), ensuring proper ventilation and accessibility.
- Wire Sizing and Routing: Expertise in determining correct wire sizes, cable types, and proper routing techniques to handle the electrical load, minimize interference, and comply with local and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC or IEC)
- Crimping and Termination: Proficient in using crimping tools, cable lugs, and terminal blocks for secure wire terminations, ensuring low resistance and high reliability of electrical connections.
- Wiring High-Voltage Systems: Capability to wire high-voltage systems and equipment in control panels, following stringent safety guidelines to prevent accidents and electrical faults.
- PLC Programming Knowledge: Basic to intermediate knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and configuration for integration into control panels.
- HMI Interface Setup: Familiarity with integrating Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) into control systems, ensuring operators can easily interact with and control the panel.
- Fault Diagnosis: Ability to troubleshoot and identify issues within control panels, such as faulty wiring, incorrect component operation, or misconfigured settings.
- Using Diagnostic Tools: Proficient with using multimeters, oscilloscopes, continuity testers, and specialized panel testers to diagnose electrical issues and verify correct system operation.
- Repair and Maintenance: Skill in repairing or replacing components, rewiring faulty connections, and optimizing control panel performance.
- Grounding and Bonding: Ensuring proper grounding and bonding of control panel components to prevent electrical hazards such as electric shocks and fires.
- 3 years of wiring technician or closely similar experience

- Ability to clearly communicate person to person.
- Established desire to learn, collaborate, listen, and discuss with peer’s methods and principles.
- Pay adjustments will be made after 90 days if you possess and demonstrate a more robust skillset than anticipated.
