Manufacturing Supply Chain Manager

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize our end-to-end supply chain operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory management, logistics, and material management to ensure timely delivery of products and services. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset and a proven track record in streamlining processes to drive cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Roles And Responsibilities

SUPPLY CHAIN STRATEGY

• Support the Director of Supply Chain in the development and implementation of comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with overall business objectives, optimizing processes from goods receipt through customer delivery.
• Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
  
  

INVENTORY & DEMAND MANAGEMENT

• Manage inventory levels to balance demand, lead times, and warehouse capacity.
• Ensure bin location integrity through proper setup and internal movement of materials.
• Manage and optimize cycle counting and periodic audits to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
• Coordinate with purchasing and production teams to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
  
  

LOGISTICS, SHIPPING & RECEIVING

• Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of goods.
• Manage relationships with freight carriers and negotiate rates to reduce transportation costs while maintaining delivery reliability.
• Implement best practices for shipping, including carrier selection, packaging standards, and freight consolidation.
• Monitor shipping schedules, tracking shipments to ensure on-time delivery to customers and the manufacturing floor.
• Ensure all inbound shipments are inspected, properly documented, and stored in designated areas.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensure proper handling of hazardous materials, if applicable.
  
  

PRE-KITTING & MATERIAL STAGING

• Develop and oversee a structured pre-kitting process to prepare and stage materials for manufacturing before production begins.
• Work with production planners and material handlers to determine the optimal kitting schedule and workflow.
• Ensure kits are assembled accurately with the correct components, reducing delays and errors on the manufacturing floor.
• Implement a tracking system to monitor kitted materials and ensure timely replenishment of pre-staged inventory.
• Continuously improve kitting procedures to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  
  

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline warehouse operations, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
• Leverage automation, barcode scanning, and ERP systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Standardize best practices across supply chain functions and document procedures for consistency.
• Analyze data from warehouse management and ERP systems to drive strategic decision-making.
• Work with Production managers to coordinate the efficient throughput of jobs to meet monthly shipping goals.
  
  

TEAM LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION

• Lead, train, and develop supply chain staff to build a high-performing team.
• Foster collaboration between procurement, production, logistics, and warehouse teams to enhance operational efficiency.
• Establish clear performance metrics and provide feedback to team members on productivity and accuracy.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving within the supply chain team.
  
  

EH&S

• Establish a Safety-First team environment with all supply chain associates, including proper use of PPE: safety shoes, safety glasses, and protective gloves.
• Demonstrate a culture of 5S awareness, team wide, to maintain organization and cleanliness.
  
  

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field experience. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain management, preferably with OEM.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end supply chain processes, inventory, logistics, and supplier management.
• Strong understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with ERP
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding leadership abilities and a collaborative approach to team management. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
