Krazy Kooters in San Clemente is looking for a talented Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team!

Our restaurant includes indoor and out door dining areas, a full bar, rooftop and more! We are looking for someone who has experience with an eclectic menu, providing warm hospitality and is committed to quality.

Position Overview :

We are seeking a talented and experienced kitchen manager with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in high-volume kitchens, the ideal candidate will bring a passion for culinary excellence, leadership, and creativity. You will play a pivotal role in menu development, kitchen management, staff training, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation along side our GM.

Our assistant kitchen manager will be responsible for leading and managing the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment while maintaining strict organization and efficiency. This person should excel in cost control and labor management, effectively managing resources to maximize profitability while ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency. Additionally, the ability to recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff is essential, as is proficiency in inventory management, product ordering, and receiving processes to maintain optimal kitchen operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team at Krazy Kooters, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes, quality standards, and food safety regulations.
  • Develop innovative and seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends and guest preferences.
  • Source and select high-quality ingredients from trusted suppliers, ensuring freshness, flavor, and sustainability.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, plating methods, and sanitation procedures.
  • Manage inventory levels, food costs, and kitchen expenses to meet budgetary goals while minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, following sanitation guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Assist with all Front of House operations, including serving, communicating with guests, assisting FOH staff with issues, assisting Bar staff with issues, etc.

  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a professional kitchen, with a focus on culinary arts and kitchen management.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve culinary excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, techniques, and cuisines
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in food safety standards and sanitation procedures, with certification preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and Over Time as needed.
