Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate excavators and mini excavators on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have expertise in site preparation, trenching, grading, and excavation work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators and mini excavators to perform site grading, trenching, and excavation tasks.
• Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes to ensure precise excavation.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance to ensure safe and proper functioning.
• Adhere to all OSHA and company safety policies, including proper use of PPE and equipment safety protocols.
• Work closely with site supervisors, laborers, and other equipment operators to ensure project efficiency.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that excavated materials are properly placed or disposed of.
• Operate equipment in confined spaces and challenging job site conditions when necessary.

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating excavators and mini excavators in a construction setting.
• Knowledge of grading, trenching, excavation, and backfilling techniques.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in heavy equipment operation.
• Physical ability to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 46 per week
