Tooling and CNC Technician
We are seeking a hands-on and mechanically skilled and motivated Tool Room Technician / CNC Operator & Programmer to join our team. This role is critical to our operations and will play a major part in maintaining and repairing molds essential to our production process. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This job will be day shift Monday - Friday with rotating on-call duties.
Requirements:
- Operate and program CNC Machine to produce components with precision and efficiency (Experience with Hass preferred).
- Assist and lead in major mold repairs, including full tear-down preventative maintenance (PM), manifold rebuilds, and other critical tasks.
- Perform welding tasks as needed (TIG welding preferred).
- Work on hydraulic systems and low-voltage (24V) systems as required.
- Use manual mills and lathes for machining tasks (experience is a plus).
- Collaborate with the tooling supervisor and team to ensure smooth operations and repairs.
- Adapt quickly to changes in a fast-paced work environment and solve problems effectively.
- Proven experience as a CNC operator and programmer, preferably with Haas CNC machines.
- Background working in an injection molding facility and repairing injection molds.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and low-voltage systems is highly preferred.
- Welding skills (TIG preferred) are a plus.
- Flexibility to be part of an on-call rotation for urgent repair needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
- Proven mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in a maintenance or tooling role.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Crane operation experience or willingness to learn.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, particularly in relation to LOTO procedures.
- Welding experience is not required but will be expected to be developed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Low-voltage electrical experience or knowledge.
- Experience in an injection molding environment is highly desirable.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and using tools and equipment safely.
