Job Overview
As a Trailer Mechanic at Kreilkamp Trucking, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various components of trailers and heavy-duty vehicles used for hauling large goods. You will use specialized tools and your technical expertise to ensure our equipment is safe, reliable, and in optimal condition.
Shift : Monday through Friday; 2 : 30PM to 11 : 00PM
Key Responsibilities
- Use specialized tools such as welding torches, jacks, hoists, wrenches, and more to perform repairs and maintenance on trailers and other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair air brakes, tires, suspension, electrical systems, lights, mobile AC refrigeration, and other components.
- Communicate timelines for repair completion to ensure prompt and efficient service.
- Order parts as needed in a cost-effective manner.
- Collaborate with the Shop Coordinator to ensure efficient completion of repairs and maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine technical repairs.
- Ensure the work area is clean and organized.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment during all repair and maintenance tasks.
- Complete repair orders and enter data accurately into the computer system.
