Industrial Engineering Technician
We are seeking a detail-orientated Industrial Engineering Technician to assist in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and supporting quality and production initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, production teams, and management to collect data, implement process improvements and ensure operational excellence.
Responsibilities –
Assist in designing and improving manufacturing processes, workflows, and layouts to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
Monitor production activities to identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions
Evaluate and recommend tools, machinery, and equipment to improve productivity and safety
Create and update work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Work closely with production staff and supervisors to implement process changes and ensure smooth operations
Assist in the training employees of new processes, tools, or equipment
Support cost analysis and recommend strategies to reduces production costs while maintaining quality
Collaborate with production planning to optimize production sequencing
Develop templates for manufacturability where needed
Evaluate product BOM’s and route components to the correct work centers
Collect and analyze production data, including time studies, work measurements, and equipment utilizations
Generate detailed reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives
Utilize FARO Tracer Laser Projector for assembly needs
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications -
High school diploma required; Degree in Industrial Engineering Technology or a related field preferred
2+ years of continuous experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment required
Proficiency in Siemens NX, Solid Edge, or similar CAD software and productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel) is required
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, workflows, and equipment
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
Familiarity with time study and work measurement techniques
Knowledge of quality standards and compliances (e.g. ISO 9001-2018, OSHA)
Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and utilize prioritization
Must work well within a team environment
A willingness to learn and the ability to be cross-trained is required
Physical Requirements –
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds
Comfortable working in a shop floor setting with noise, dust, and varying temperatures
Comfortable working in an office setting
