General Manager
The General Manager (GM) at KALO is responsible for overseeing the operations of a single restaurant location, ensuring profitability, quality, and exceptional customer service. The GM will monitor sales, enforce company policies, and address operational challenges to maintain seamless restaurant operations. The General Manager plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and fostering a positive work environment while ensuring the restaurant meets company goals and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Sales Monitoring: Analyze sales performance to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and quality standards in line with company policies.
- Financial Management: Review financial reports, manage costs, and maximize profitability.
- Operational Improvements: Implement strategies to enhance efficiency and the overall customer experience.
Staff Management
- Hiring & Recruitment: Oversee the hiring process to ensure a qualified and personable team.
- Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and build a pipeline of future leaders.
- Employee Relations: Address and resolve performance issues and employee concerns.
Restaurant-Level Initiatives
- Marketing & Promotions: Execute local marketing campaigns to drive sales and customer engagement. Engage with the community and identify networking and fundraising opportunities.
- Customer Service: Maintain high standards of customer service.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety, labor laws, and workplace safety.
- Reporting: Provide regular performance reports to senior management on key operational metrics.
Performance Metrics
- Cost of Goods Sold (COGS): Maintain a COGS target of 25% based on pricing and menu mix.
- Labor Costs: Keep labor costs at or below 12.5% of AUV.
- Sales Growth: Achieve a minimum 3% year-over-year sales increase.
- Customer Satisfaction: Maintain a 95% or higher satisfaction rating with at least 100 evaluations per year.
- Employee Retention: Keep turnover below 80%.
- Team Development: Ensure all staff complete Core 4 certification, ServSafe Manager, and SafeStaff training.
*Mandatory Requirement- Upon hire or promotion into the General Manager role, you will enter into our Manager in Training program for 8-10 weeks (360 hours) to fully learn the position. You will train at one of our certified training locations; this may require travel depending on location. You must successfully complete training before assuming role as a General Manager.*
