Job Summary
The inventory clerk plays a vital role in counting, tracking, and providing accurate inventory reports to internal and external customers. This position requires a strong administrative component and involves dual responsibilities supporting the Supply Chain team and Quality team.
Responsibilities:
- Complete Inventory Control Activities (cycle counts of inventory, production usage/adjustments, destruction, receipts, etc.)
- Ensure that the inventory database is current to ensure that inventory reports for internal use are accurate
- Verify and record the production/operator's completed paperwork and the daily usage by lot into the database
- Notify your team leader of problems relating to packing lists, COA's, lot information, etc. for receiving of ingredients and packaging materials
- Responsible for expired ingredients/components, notification to internal and external customers, acquiring disposition or approval and scheduling disposition or destruction per QA management approval
- Handles all matters related to inventory control (verification of current packaging, on approved supplier list, all documentation is correct, vendor returns, shelf life, lot tracking, disposition, etc.)
- Sample and ship ingredients and finished product for testing or samples per customer request, as required
- Follow all federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations with regards to shipment of hazardous material and waste
- Responsible for maintaining inventory by customer and providing customer name on ingredient and packaging materials for inventory control by customer
- Process various inventory related reports as requested
- Distribute reports to proper personnel and customers
- Print inventory cycle counts as requested
- Backup for the material handler
- Any other work or projects as assigned by leadership
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of one-year experience in manufacturing warehouse with inventory management
- Required to fully comply with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures and Food Safety Management requirements
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read and comprehend instructions and procedures in English
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize workload and accommodate shift in daily priorities based on the needs of the business
- Ability to demonstrate a high sense of urgency and be proactive in addressing problems as they arise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, cultivating a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration and teamwork
- Ability to provide feedback and support training and development initiatives as well as the goals and objectives of the department and company
- Must attain Food Safety Training (Qualified Individual)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (frequent physical exertions, including twisting, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and climbing) and be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
- Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and fumes.
