Overview: The position has primary responsibility for overseeing a production line in a fast-paced environment while also training employees, addressing outages or maintenance issues, creating solutions, encouraging employees, completing paperwork, and looking for process improvements to increase the overall operation of the line and quality of the products.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows
- Responsible for enforcing safety and quality standards, good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) and adherence to job specifications.
- Ensure proper PPE is utilized, as well as forklift compliance.
- Responsible for reading, comprehending, and explaining job standards, packaging requirements and implementing the quality standards and specifications for products.
- Train, motivate, guide and assist production line workers to carry out duties and responsibilities in a safe, standardized, effective and efficient manner.
- Able to operate all equipment and processing systems on the production line assigned and manage the line staffing provided.
- Understand and monitor shift productivity and quality specifications are met or exceeded by delivering production line results, including efficiencies and yields, and consistently meets production requirements as set for each line.
- Responsible for performing the production line setup to established standard (processing system, detectors, injectors, coders, equipment, etc.).
- Responsible for assisting and ensuring the line change overs are completed.
- Able to quickly troubleshoot issues, resolve and keep production line moving.
- Follow all customer standards/specifications, quality requirements and Federal, State and Local regulations.
- Monitor equipment for proper operation and report issue following the Code Blue standard and document all issues on company forms.
- Responsible for ensuring all daily production line documents and records are accurately completed.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas throughout shift and at end of shift including ensuring that proper clean and sanitized containers with lids are to be utilized on production lines as well as removal of full containers at end of shift
- Assist in sanitation as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent is required or an associate degree in Manufacturing Supervision or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ previous manufacturing experience required with related experience in the Food and Beverage industry and machinery preferred.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Required to fully comply with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures and Food Safety Management requirements.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed including a change at the start and end of shift times and weekends.
- Required to be forklift certified by Krier Foods, Inc. before operating any company-owned forklift.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read and comprehend instructions and procedures in English.
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize workload and accommodate the shift in daily priorities based on the needs of the business.
- Ability to demonstrate a high sense of urgency and be proactive in addressing problems as they arise.

- Ability to coach and mentor in the development of other team members when appropriate.
- Ability to provide feedback and support training and development initiatives within the department and throughout the company.
- Leads and Maintenance employees will not be approved for vacation during the period of the Annual Maintenance Shutdown week (normally scheduled the week after the Christmas Holiday)
- Must attain Food Safety Training (Qualified Individual)
