Position Summary:
At Kriete Truck Centers, our New Truck Preparation Technicians play a critical role in ensuring every new truck meets our organization’s high standards before they reach our customers. This entry-level position is the perfect opportunity for an eager candidate to get hands-on experience in the industry. You will be responsible for inspecting new inventory, identifying any factory defects or transport damage, and ensuring every truck is delivered in top condition. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cosmetic repairs on heavy-duty commercial trucks.
- Utilize hand or power tools to remove, repair, or replace damaged components.
- Work with a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, glass, and mechanical components.
- Conduct truck delivery check-ins and inspections.
- Conduct thorough pre-deliver inspections (PDI) to determine necessary repairs, ensuring all work aligns with safety and quality standards.
- Accurately document and communicate all findings with the service advisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and in good condition.
- Comply with all safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, hazardous waste disposal procedures, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Participate in training programs, including OEM-sponsored courses and professional development opportunities, to stay current with industry advancements.
- Ensure customer vehicles are returned or delivered in excellent condition with a focus on cleanliness and quality workmanship.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimal experience is required but mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality products to our customers.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and independently as needed.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., with frequent standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and other physical tasks required.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all regulatory guidelines.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Automotive or heavy equipment training or experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
