Graphic Designer - Contract Role ( 3 Months)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Kripalu marketing team is seeking a creative, organized and motivated contract graphic designer. This person will be responsible for developing and executing both print and digital creative assets, collaborating with the Creative Director and other marketing team members, and working efficiently within a deadline-driven environment. This role requires the ability to bring a disciplined design aesthetic to the established brand of Kripalu, working within our Brand & Style Guide to bring each deliverable to life for our target audiences. The ideal candidate is well-versed in both print and digital design, has knowledge of print production, excels at time management and is a confident communicator when it comes to problem-solving.

This role entails approximately 15-20 hours of work per week, with an on-site presence required 1-2 days a week at our Stockbridge location.

Key Responsibilities:

Work alongside Creative Director to concept and execute visual design assets across a wide array of channels

Take projects through the full lifecycle: briefing, concept, design, refinement, and production

Work closely with project manager to stay on top of deadlines and finish work in a timely manner

Create designs that adhere to the Kripalu Brand & Style Guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy of visual output Work directly with Creative Director and Guest Services for on-site collateral and signage, and regularly spot-check to make sure collateral is stocked and signage is updated

Ability to assist staff designer on creating materials for social media, web, email, catalog, direct mail and advertising

Stay up on the latest trends in design, advertising, and social media

Utilize photography editing/retouching skills in Photoshop when needed

Work collaboratively with team members

Have a keen eye for detail, including checking for typos/mistakes before delivery

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years working in graphic design, and related BA or BFA degree

A strong, diverse portfolio showcasing projects across print and digital media (e.g., brochures, posters, packaging, web and other digital graphics).

Extensive experience within Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop

Experience working within Brand & Style Guidelines and adhering to templated design

Highly visual, meticulous attention to detail

Excellent project management and organizational skills

Excellent knowledge of photo-editing

Understanding of print production processes, file formats (e.g., CMYK, DPI), and working with print vendors.

Proficiency in typography/font selection, type hierarchy, and readability across different media.

Experience designing for digital platforms such as websites, mobile apps, social media, and banner ads.

Experience with video editing, AI usage/skills, and layout for publishing are all a plus
