Position Summary:
The Project Manager plays a critical role in managing and executing complex, multi-phased projects that drive operational improvements, enhance efficiency, and support business growth. Reporting to the President, this position will oversee initiatives related to acquisitions, fleet operations, software implementation, and continuous improvement strategies. The ideal candidate is a skilled project leader with a strong ability to collaborate across departments, manage competing priorities, and deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Execution:
- Plan, lead, and manage multiple projects, including acquisitions, operational enhancements, and technology rollouts.
- Develop project scopes, objectives, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Monitor project progress, addressing risks and ensuring all deliverables are met on time, within budget, and aligned with company goals.
- Implement and maintain best practices in project management, including risk mitigation, quality control, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations, technology, and human resources, to define project goals and execute plans.
- Facilitate communication across departments and with external stakeholders to align priorities and resolve issues.
- Act as a liaison between corporate leadership and regional teams to ensure projects meet operational and strategic objectives.
Operational Improvements:
- Support new business initiatives and acquisitions by developing and implementing efficient processes and workflows.
- Drive operational improvements through data analysis, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending solutions.
- Champion the adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance operational performance.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, including regional operations, corporate leadership, and cross-functional departments, to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing support and guidance to drive project success and operational excellence.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership, keeping them informed of project progress, key milestones, and outcomes, while proactively addressing any challenges.
- Engage with external stakeholders as needed, to support organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, Project Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Proven experience (5 years) in project management, with a track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional projects.
- PMP (Project Management Professional), CAPM (Certified associate in project management) or similar certification is highly preferred.
- Experience in the transportation or logistics sector is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
