Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus or van along assigned routes, adhering to established schedules for loading and unloading students or clients.
- Perform comprehensive pre and post-trip inspections to confirm the vehicle’s operational integrity.
- Maintain discipline and ensure a respectful atmosphere among students during transit.
- Comply with company policies related to pupil management and foster positive relationships with parents and educators.
- Submit reports and maintain accurate records as required by management.
- Conduct safety drills and educate students on proper riding practices.
- Keep the bus clean and refueled while promptly reporting any mechanical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Capacity to enforce discipline and maintain order among passengers.
- Familiarity with vehicle safety inspection protocols.
- Ability to adhere to designated schedules and routes consistently.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid CDL Passenger and School Bus Endorsement, along with an Air Brake Endorsement.
- Successful completion of background checks as mandated by law and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
- Tuberculosis testing is required in accordance with educational regulations.
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and participate in ongoing random testing.
- An annual physical examination is necessary for this role.
