- Operate a bus along assigned routes in accordance with established schedules, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to verify the vehicle’s operational safety.
- Uphold discipline and order among students during transport, adhering to established policies for pupil management.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager or Dispatcher to track route efficiency and report necessary adjustments.
- Report any mechanical issues and maintain cleanliness and functionality of the bus.
- Educate students on safe riding practices and lead evacuation drills as required.
- Valid Driver’s License with CDL Passenger and School Bus Endorsement, including Air Brake Endorsement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students and families.
- A solid focus on safety and child welfare, ensuring a secure environment for all passengers.
- Basic mechanical understanding to identify and report vehicle-related concerns.
- Successful completion of background checks as mandated by Pennsylvania law for criminal history and child abuse.
- Tuberculosis testing required per Pennsylvania Department of Education standards.
- Participation in a pre-employment drug screening and ongoing random testing throughout employment.
- Ability to pass an annual physical examination.
