Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver to join our team. Immediate placing when pre-hire background screen is completed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations in East Lansing, Haslett and MSU campus only. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to handle heavy lifting as needed. The Driver will operate different types of vehicles, including box trucks and vans, while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Duties
- Safely drive and operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and vans.
- Execute route driving efficiently to ensure timely deliveries.
- Load and unload goods using pallet jacks and manual handling techniques.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status.
- Handle heavy lifting of packages and materials as necessary during deliveries. Weight limit up to 150 pounds with dolly cart provided.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety, vehicle operation, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus. Must have a chauffeurs endorsement prior to starting.
- Familiarity with route driving and local geography is beneficial.
- Experience in moving or logistics is an advantage.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
