Position Overview

The General Maintenance Technician at Kristen Distributing Company plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. This position involves performing a variety of handyman tasks, including lawn maintenance, changing air filters, and making small repairs. The ideal candidate will have strong practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and maintaining outdoor areas.
• Change air filters throughout the building regularly to ensure optimal air quality.
• Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Inspect and troubleshoot issues with building systems and equipment.
• Respond to maintenance requests and repair issues promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are in good working order.
• Assist with setup and teardown for company events and functions.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete larger maintenance projects.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned, showcasing flexibility and a willingness to contribute to team success.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman roles.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair skills.
• Ability to operate lawn maintenance equipment and tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Safety awareness: A strong commitment to safety and awareness of safe work practices.
• Positive attitude: Maintains a positive demeanor and professional conduct.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Must be able to pass a drug test & background check.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with team members and management.
