The Scientist II or III, Analytical Development (Mass Spectrometry) is responsible for establishing and maintaining LC/MS/MS capabilities within Kriya. The scientist utilizes LC/MS/MS capabilities to support AAV capsid characterization and impurity identification as well as bioanalytical method development and analysis.

Who You Are
The Scientist II or III, Analytical Development (Mass Spectrometry) is responsible for establishing and maintaining LC/MS/MS capabilities within Kriya. The scientist utilizes LC/MS/MS capabilities to support AAV capsid characterization and impurity identification as well as bioanalytical method development and analysis.
How You Contribute
- Assist in the analysis and optimization of LC/MS capabilities for characterization of AAV viral proteins and protein impurities.
- Develop methods for analysis of bioanalytical samples, and analyze samples by developed methods.
- Collaborate with process development, formulation development, and bioanalytical teams to define LC/MS analysis needs and draw conclusions from MS data
- Review, edit, and possibly author technical protocols and reports.
- Support investigations when necessary to support non-clinical bioanalytical studies.
What You Bring to the Team
- Degree in relevant discipline plus relevant working experience in a pharmaceutical/ biotechnology or CRO laboratory setting.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years’ work experience
- Master’s degree 4 years’ work experience
- PhD degree or equivalent with 2 years’ work experience
- Experience characterizing proteins and protein impurities using LC/MS and LC/MS/MS is required. Experience analyzing AAV samples by LC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS preferred.
- Experience developing MS-based methods for bioanalytical analysis is preferred.
- Experience with Themo Orbitrap mass spectrometers preferred.
- Understands current analytical methods deployed for AAV or protein stability and characterization.
- Understands protein degradation pathways and expected degradation profile.
- Has experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Is highly self-motivated and flexible and operates well in a start-up environment.
- Primarily a laboratory setting
- May involve standing, sitting, and using laboratory equipment for extended periods.
- Some lifting of equipment or materials may be required.
