External Operations Manager | Residential Construction Leadership

What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, manage, and hold a team of ~9 accountable (Superintendents, Warranty, and Field Support).
- Perform weekly 1:1s and team check-ins.
- Mentor team members and develop growth plans.
- Conduct job site visits for real-time coaching.
- Champion core value alignment and performance metrics.
Field Operations & Process Ownership
- Assign jobs and territories based on workload and fit.
- Own scheduling accuracy, calendars, and communication flow.
- Ensure use of checklists and core processes.
- Lead and refine training for field staff.
- Continuously seek and execute process improvements.
Customer Experience & Collaboration
- Lead customer check-ins and major walkthroughs.
- Monitor customer feedback and close the loop on concerns.
- Act as the primary liaison between field and internal operations.
- Identify and address interdepartmental workflow gaps.
Financial & Quality Oversight
- Track and respond to variances from budgets to actual costs.
- Manage warranty budget and response time.
- Drive quality assurance and implement issue-prevention plans.
What You Need to Get the Job Done (Minimum Qualifications)
- 5 years of experience managing a team.
- Previous home building and or industry-related experience is a plus, but not required. A desire to learn and understand the business is needed.
- Proven ability to influence others through leadership, not authority.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with peers, team members, and customers.
- Ability to assess situations and make appropriate decisions.
- Proficient usage and championing of technology.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours, as needed.
- Proficient in or willing to learn Microsoft Office.
- Analytical with data and schedule.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work outside in all types of weather conditions; conditions include occasional extreme heat exposure due to natural climate. The noise level in each work environment will vary and could sporadically be loud.
