Nature of Work:
Provide expert level coaching & support for Colorado Rapids Academy teams within the guidelines established by the Colorado Rapids, Major League Soccer and US Soccer.
Examples of work performed:
- Assist in planning, delivery and review of Academy training sessions for Colorado Rapids Academy teams at U14, U15 & U17 levels.
- Assist Academy head coaches on game day warmups, match analysis, player instruction and substitution preparation.
- Assist head coaches with match analysis, opponent scouting, set piece preparation, and Individual Development Plan management as assigned.
- Work under the direction of the Academy Technical Director as required in recruitment, tryouts, player selection, training, evaluation and retention of Academy players.
- Travel as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Stand and walk 1/3 to 2/3 of time.

- Outdoor weather conditions 1/3 to 2/3 of time.
- Clear vision at 20", depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications
- US Soccer "B" License or equivalent combination of coaching and playing experience. o US Soccer "A" License preferred.
- Professional playing experience preferred.
- Material and Equipment Used:
- General office equipment including copier, fax, phone, computer/keyboard, etc.
Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to teach techniques, tactics, physical and psychological components of soccer.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and educate youth players and youth coaching staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with video analysis via Hudl or Sportscode preferred.
- Knowledge regarding player development.
- Knowledge of MLS Homegrown Player requirements.
- Ability to create spreadsheets and routine business correspondence using Word and Excel software.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task effectively.
- Knowledge of professional sports team operations, public relations, and/or sponsor relations is preferred.
- Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
