Nature of Work:
Manages activities of Meetings and Events Department to include supervision of event staff, resolving guest complaints and performing general office and event functions for the department.
Examples of work performed:
- Coordinates with KSE and catering departments at the Ball Arena regarding meetings and private events logistics, including but not limited to - meetings with clients, client site visits, creation of event documentation, and event day execution.
- Supports other KSE properties when necessary.
- Negotiate contracts with prospective clients.
- Manages all aspects of assigned VIP initiative for concerts at Ball Arena
. - Maintains ABI booking system and Ball Arena Master Calendar with up-to-date information and the monthly Meetings and Events Calendars for Ball Arena.
- Performs file maintenance / updates for promotional materials, venue websites and databases.
- Monitors staff interaction with guests during events to ensure high quality customer service and satisfaction, assists in the research and development of procedures to improve efficiency of event execution, offers ideas for improvement and consults with the department for changes as needed, and assists in the implementation of changes.
- Works directly with clients and vendors in the execution of events from client load-in, event duration, and load-out.
- Assist Ball Arena departments with start to finish event planning.
- Act as a liaison between hosting departments and KSE vendors.
- Determines action to be taken in response to client complaints or problems; consults with other department managers to determine best course of action for unusual problems or situations.
- Game day assistance to Event Managers with events pre, post, and during games.
- Works closely with KSE Departments & Vendor Partners to complete projects for the benefit of the various venues and client needs.
- Attends weekly Event Meeting, Operations Meeting and Department Meetings.
- Maintains internal meetings request booking system for all Ball Arena meeting spaces.
- Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

- Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
- Normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.

Qualifications:
- Minimum
- High school diploma or GED; college course work preferred.
- Minimum 2 years event planning and execution experience within the event/meeting industry.
- Minimum 3 years general work experience.
- Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Preferred
- Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of generally accepted standards of event management, customer service and problem resolution.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients, fellow employees, and vendors.
- Ability to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
- Basic proficiency in word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and database applications preferred.
- Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.

Compensation:
- Base salary range $55,000 - $65,000 per annum
