Position Summary
The Safeguarding Manager will assist the Safeguarding Director in developing a best-in-class Safeguarding department, by continuing to establish player wellbeing and safety as the centerpiece of Club sporting culture.
Examples of work performed
- Assist the Safeguarding Director in reviewing, updating, and developing the Colorado Rapids’ Safe Sport policies and procedures that safeguard the Club’s First Team, Second Team and Academy.
- Work closely with teams at all levels of the Colorado Rapids to ensure best practices are created, communicated and consistently followed.
- Oversee all Safe Sport training and education completions among various constituent groups at every level of the Club (staff, players, parents of minor players, etc.).
- Assist with Safe Sport presentations to internal departments.
- Provide and streamline access to consistent training and resources to prevent misconduct.
- Assist with confidential investigations.
- Establish oversight and compliance mechanisms, including regular audits.
- Assist the Safeguarding Director in facilitating the Colorado Rapids Safe Sport Internship Program.
- Work in collaboration with Club chaplaincy group.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Interest and experience in competitive sports environment (soccer preferred).
- Interest and experience in residential housing environments preferred.
Education/Experience
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (legal, social services, law enforcement, education, etc.).
- 2 years’ experience in related field such as sport management, residential housing, or administration of youth serving programming.
- Demonstrated interest in sport safety and athlete rights.
- Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
Compensation
- Base salary $60,000.00 per annum
