Position Summary:
The Chief Pilot works with the Aviation Manager to establish operating procedures, hire and supervise pilots. This position frequently assumes flight duty and is familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations. The Chief Pilot ensures flights are conducted according to federal regulations and safety and assigns and supervises the activities of flight personnel, and coordinates flight and aircraft maintenance functions. The Chief Pilot may also determine scheduling and maintain flight records. Essential Job Functions:
- Fly a Captain's reduced flight schedule.
- Ensure compliance with current flight operations directives set forth in the Operations Manual
- Direct and supervise flight training in accordance with the department training policy.
- Conduct pilot line checks as required
- Assign pilots to the flight schedule according to Department policy.
- Assist the aviation department manager in budgeting matters, including preparation of expense forecasts and cost control.
- Work closely with the Chief of Maintenance.
- Annually review the individual performance of the pilot staff and make salary recommendations to the department manager.
- Recommend pilot applicants for employment selection.
- Consult with the department manager concerning special projects for flight operations.
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; completes performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot certificate with appropriate aircraft type ratings.
- Possess a valid First Class F.A.A. medical certificate.
- Possess a valid Radio Operator's certificate issued by the F.C.C.
- Have accumulated at least 5,500 hours of flight time including: 4,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)., 4,000 hours Multi Engine Instrument (MEL), 3,500 hours Jet PIC, 1,000 hours instrument

- At least two years of management experience in a corporate flight department.
