Position Summary:
Responsible for leading, facilitating and monitoring the safety processes and compliance functions to ensure all safety issues are resolved and all compliance matters are maintained as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and The Kroger Co. Involve and assist the entire plant team in meeting individual and plant safety goals and objectives. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead all areas of the physical safety and Behavioral Accident Prevention Process (BAPP) process with steady consistency and advocacy.
- Ensure that everyone is actively involved/trained in the Behavioral Accident Prevention Process (BAPP) and physical safety process in order to create a safety oriented facility.
- Ensure all required safety training is conducted in a timely manner, for all associates.
- Serve as liaison in communicating associate safety needs and concerns to management.
- Lead the continuous improvement of the Safety 4 Key Drivers process and communicating team results to the plant population.
- Role model in safety for Steering team and effectively facilitate and lead the team.
- Act to identify and eliminate all at- risk behaviors and physical barriers, for improved safety.
- Identify and train Accident Investigation Team (AIT) associates on each shift to help investigate accidents and remove at-risk behaviors and/or barriers to safe practices.
- Develop the leadership skills of the steering team to continuously strengthen their ability to lead the plant to world class safety standards and practices.
- Conduct safety inspections to remove physical barriers that cause injuries.
- Utilize the RINCON system to enter observation data and generate reports for the safety teams to use in driving change in our safety process.
- Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
- Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with high degree of accuracy and precision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and phone skills.
- Strong administration, planning, facilitation and organizational skills.
- Ability to interact and work with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Desired Previous Job Experience
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Previous office experience and/or plant experience.
- Previous safety compliance experience.
- OSHA 30 Hour training.
