Responsibilities

  • Manage staff activities, coordinate and monitor the progress of ongoing unclaimed property audits including, but not limited to, all requests, reviews performed, resulting work products, and special projects, with an emphasis on thorough and accurate completion of audit plans.
  • Develop clear and concise plans and paper documentation for unclaimed property audits which include audit scope, objectives, procedures performed, internal control deficiencies, and actionable recommendations.
  • Review paper documentation of completed projects assigned to ensure adequate documentation has been gathered to evidence completion of the audit and that such work paper documentation form an adequate basis for reporting the results of that audit to management.
  • Work with senior management and executive management to ensure preparation and accuracy of internal and external reporting on ongoing audits.
  • Utilize audit and/or accounting skills in a forensic analysis capacity where various data sets are obtained, analyzed and modeled.
  • Evaluate key data information and supporting documentation for erroneous or inconsistent results and document the analysis performed.
  • Approve and disseminate research obtained by team members of ever-changing industry, product, and audit methodologies.
  • Ensure staff is sufficiently utilized and trained in new audit and data methodologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous audit experience within unclaimed property is required
  • Previous management experience is required
  • College degree required
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Superior analytical and evaluative capabilities
  • Strong understanding of data analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
