Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Analysis:
- Review requirements for clarity, completeness, consistency, feasibility, and verifiability.
- Identify and resolve ambiguities, conflicts, or gaps in requirements.
- Traceability:
- Use tools like DOORS to maintain traceability between stakeholder requirements, system requirements, and design artifacts.
- Track changes and ensure alignment with parent requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Validation Planning and Methods:
- Develop validation plans and ensure requirements meet ARP-4754A standards.
- Perform validation using methods such as:
- Inspections and Reviews: Formal reviews with stakeholders and SMEs.
- Simulations and Prototyping: Demonstrate operational alignment with prototypes or models.
- Use Cases and Scenarios: Test real-world scenarios to validate requirements.
- Interfaces and Integration:
- Ensure system requirements address interactions between subsystems, external systems, and the operational environment.
- Validate that interface definitions meet integration and safety needs.
- Requirement Validation Goals:
- Correctness: Ensure requirements accurately reflect stakeholder needs.
- Completeness: Capture all necessary requirements.
- Consistency: Eliminate conflicts across requirements.
- Feasibility: Verify requirements are achievable within technology, cost, and schedule constraints.
- Compliance: Meet certification and safety standards.
- Experience with ARP-4754A processes, requirements validation/verification, and aerospace systems development.
- Proficiency in tools like DOORS for managing requirements and traceability.
- Familiarity with safety-critical processes like FHA, FMEA, and PSSA.
- Strong skills in validation techniques, including inspections, reviews, simulations, and use-case testing.
- Understanding of system integration and interface requirements.
- Knowledge of certification standards like DO-178C and DO-254.
- Experience with modeling, simulation, and prototyping tools.
- Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
