Are you a reliable, motivated, versatile, and highly organized entry-level geologist, environmental scientist or engineer capable of office tasks such and field tasks such as environmental media sampling and project documentation in a team setting?

Do you have what it takes to investigate and remediate releases of petroleum and other hazardous materials to the environment?

Can you think on your feet in an emergency spill response setting or have a desire to learn in a hands-on setting?

Kropp Environmental Contractors, Inc. (KEC), a full-service environmental consulting and remediation firm, is seeking an entry-level geologist, environmental scientist or engineer to join our Franklin, Connecticut Office. Offering a wide range of services, including emergency response, tank removals and installations, tank cleaning and confined space entry, Geoprobe® drilling, and environmental site assessment and remediation, KEC provides a unique work environment and an opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of environmental contracting and consulting activities. This is a full-time position, with both technical and administrative responsibilities, for the candidate with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to respond to rapidly changing priorities centered around our clients and the environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize computer programs such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe and MS Office.
  • Prepare quotes for site services, environmental site assessments, and remediation services.
  • Coordinate with field personnel; collect and manage samples and analytical results.
  • Communicate with clients, subcontractors and regulatory personnel.
  • Evaluate and tabulate data; assist with reporting tasks, including figures, tables and attachments.
  • Assist senior personnel with project tasks.
  • Answer and direct routine calls from clients.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields.
  • 0 to 2 years professional experience in environmental consulting; recent graduates are welcome.
  • Effective, proficient English language communication and writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office and Adobe.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS preferred.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and OSHA 10-hour Construction training a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and potentially work extended periods during inclement weather.
