Job Title: Industrial Cleaning Technician

SUMMARY

With the assistance of another Industrial Cleaning Technician, prevents dust accumulation throughout the facilities by performing the following duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Remove combustible dust.
• Clean ceilings, piping, equipment
• Use and maintain industrial vacuums and accessories
• Track all cleaning activities in Maintenance Management System.
• Fill out requisitions for supplies needed
• Operate scissor and/or boom lift
• Wear and properly maintain personal fall protection equipment
• Lockout equipment and areas as applicable
• Work on other jobs assigned when cleaning work is unavailable
• Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent on the job experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to obtain a forklift certification

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, policies, and emails. Ability to write/type short maintenance details into maintenance software.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to follow detail work instructions. Ability to deal with nonstandard situations with many variables.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and maintain a consistent workload that involves physical labor.

This position requires the ability to maintain alertness and focus on the job tasks. Must be able to position oneself for work in and around confined spaces and at heights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Some work may require the use of a respirator. Employee must be able to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to combustible dust. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and will be operating a scissor lift and boom lift regularly. The employee may be required to stand and climb on scaffolding and ladders, stand for long periods of time and work in extreme hot conditions.

The noise level in the work environment requires the use of ear protection at all times.

REQUIRED PPE: Safety goggles with indirect vent, Ear plugs, Type 2, Class G or E Hard Hat, General purpose gloves.

OPTIONAL PPE: Cooling pad, N95 Respirator, Coveralls

WORK AVAILABLITY AND TRAVEL

Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work.

Travel requirements: <10%
