Job Title: Assistant Director of Technology
Reports to: Director of Technology/Central Administration
Primary Purpose:
Assist the Director to direct and manage the information systems and computer services for the district. Ensure efficient and effective access to information and related technology by all campuses and administrative departments. Collaborate with district staff and administration to ensure maximum student achievement. Develop, maintain, and monitor all district local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs). Responsible for installation, testing, and maintenance of all network hardware, personal computers, laptops, software, and related equipment.

Three years successful experience in supervision and management of an information
systems department for a large organization (preferably an educational setting).

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Technology and Information Management
- Assist campuses and administration to implement and coordinate plans to address technology needs, including evaluation of hardware and software and management of data.
- Assist to develop and implement district standards and specifications for hardware and software use. Responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of all computer hardware and software throughout the district.
- Assist to manage, direct, and assign priorities and personnel to major projects to ensure attainment of district and campus goals and objectives in a timely manner as determined by district staff.
- Assist to develop and implement a district wide security system for all systems; ensure network security by maintaining network, Internet, and E-mail accounts.
- Assist to design and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure that backup of all networks and workstations are performed on a regular basis.
- Assist with the implementation of staff development in the area of information management and technology; make presentations and user manuals as needed.
- Assist to develop and coordinate evaluation of information and technology services and implement changes based on the findings.
- Assist to create, maintain, and update technical manuals and documentation for software.
- Other duties as assigned.
Policy, Reports, and Law
- Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rulings, and local board policy in the area of information management and technology.
- Compile and maintain all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Maintain network design and configuration documentation in the central office vault.
- Maintain inventory of district computer hardware and software and responsible for the disposal of obsolete equipment following district policies.

- Attend professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovations in information management and technology services.
