Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work well with children and teachers
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to manage a classroom and assist in planning instruction
Experience:
One year experience working with children
Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.

Work under general supervision of teacher and administrator in assigned position as a classroom aide.Qualifications:
Education/Certification:High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas Paraprofessional Certificate

Ability to manage a classroom and assist in planning instruction
Experience:
One year experience working with children
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support
- Assist teachers and students in use of appropriate educational resources.
- Works collaboratively with and follows directions of the supervising teacher.
- Demonstrates initiative in planning for the instructional needs of students
- Provides basic care to special needs student as directed by supervising teacher and principal
Student Management
- Manage student behavior.
- Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
- Keep teacher and/or administrator informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
Other
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
