Position Overview:

The Electronics Manufacturing Quote Specialist is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and competitive pricing for electronics manufacturing services. This role works closely with the sales team, engineers, and manufacturing departments to develop cost estimates for prospective clients, ensuring all quotes align with the company’s pricing strategies and profitability targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, cost structures, and supply chain considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare Quotes: Develop detailed quotes for electronics manufacturing services, including PCB assembly, component sourcing, testing, and packaging based on customer requirements and project specifications.
• Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information for accurate quote generation, including material costs, labor, tooling, and lead times.
• Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding quotes, ensuring clear communication of costs, timelines, and specifications.
• Cost Analysis & Pricing Strategy: Analyze customer specifications to estimate labor, material, and production costs. Ensure all quotes are competitive while maintaining profitability for the company.
• Supplier & Vendor Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and vendors to obtain component pricing, lead times, and availability, ensuring that quotes reflect the most current market conditions.
• Maintain Pricing Database: Keep an updated database of standard costs, materials, components, and pricing models to improve the efficiency and accuracy of future quotes.
• Project Documentation: Ensure all quotes are accurately documented, including supporting materials, drawings, and customer communication, for seamless project transition to production teams.
• Market Research: Monitor industry trends, competitor pricing, and changes in material costs to ensure pricing remains competitive and accurate.
• Manage Quote Deadlines: Ensure timely completion of quotes within agreed timelines, prioritizing urgent requests and managing expectations with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associates Degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management (Bachelor Degree preferred)
• Experience:
• 3 or more years of experience in electronics manufacturing or a related field, preferably with hands-on experience in quoting or cost estimation.
• Familiarity with PCB assembly, surface mount technology (SMT), through-hole assembly, and other electronics manufacturing processes.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of electronics components, assembly processes, and supply chain logistics.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and quoting software (e.g., QuoteWerks, RFQ tools).
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess customer requirements and translate them into accurate cost structures.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with internal teams and customers effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple quotes and meet deadlines.
• Proficiencies:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle) and/or BOM management tools is a plus.
• Understanding of reading schematics and manufacturing drawings

Preferred:

• Experience working in a contract manufacturer or EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) environment.
• Knowledge of international sourcing and logistics for global electronics manufacturing.
• Understanding of ITAR and Export Regulations.
